  19. This is not a problem with the modems, it is a bug in ARA.  I know that an
  20. '040 AV mac can rarely maintain an ARA connection for more than 45
  21. minutes, and powerPCs have the same serial port architechture and perhaps
  22. the same incompatibility.  I found it helps to specify a maximum connect
  23. time in ARA, like 9999 minutes, instead of using the checkbox to say there
  24. isn't a max - it doesn't work on some machines.

  26. For large files, you would be much better off using ZTerm anyways, though,
  27. and just Zmodem transferring the files.  ARA is dog slow.
